After submitting to all the big festivals and getting rejected by each one, "Bellflower" director Evan Godell was planning on shelving the film.
This would have been a shame as "Bellflower" delivers on what true Independent Films have been missing. The producer of the movie decided to submit to a new category formed at Sundance Film Festival called NEXT, for micro-budget movies. The movie was accepted and Godell's trajectory has never been the same, as "Bellflower" was picked up for distribution and entered theaters across the U.S.
